How to Make Black Rifle Coffee
Choosing Your Coffee
Choose your Black Rifle Coffee Blend Some common ones include “Just Black”, “Silencer Smooth” and my personal favorite, “AK-47 Espresso Blend”.
Grinding the Beans
If all you have is whole beans, grind them to the coarseness your brewing method! A medium grind works best for drip coffee; a coarse grind is ideal for French press; and a fine grind does the trick for AeroPress or pour-over.
Measuring the Coffee
1 to 2 tablespoons of coffee (per 6 ounces of water) Use more or less depending on the your personal flavor profile and how strong your coffee is.
Boiling the Water
Pour fresh, filtered water into your tea kettle and heat to just below boiling (195-205°F or 90-96°C). The water, when it is set to the right temperature, extracts flavors to the maximum.
Brewing Methods
Filter Basket for a Drip Coffee Maker: install filter in the basket, throw your freshly ground coffee into the basket and pour hot water inside reservoir. Begin wetting the machine and let it brew.
French Press: add coffee to the press, pour in hot water and stir. Put the top on with the plunger extended. Steep for 4 minutes and then slowly press the plunger down.
Pour-Over: Put a filter in the pour-over device, add grounds, and then slowly pour hot water over the top of the grounds in a slow circular motion letting coffee bloom then continue pouring till you have poured all your desired amount.
AeroPress: Place the coffee grounds into the AeroPress, add hot water, use the stirrer to mix and then press the plunger down slowly.
Serving
Re-caffeinate in your mug of choice. Drink it black or with milk, cream and sugar of your choice.
